Paul Wagenknecht
Paul R. Wagenknecht, 54, Holt, Mo., died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at his home. Mr. Wagenknecht was born July 30, 1955, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Burdette and Leota Fishburn Wagenknecht. He retired from the United States Navy as a chief petty officer after serving 24 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Kearney.
Survivors include his parents, Burdette and Leota Wagenknecht, Liberty; his wife, Connie, and daughter, Miranda, both of Liberty; sons, Scott Wagenknecht, Sacramento, Calif., and Michael Uchrin, Korea; daughter, Jennifer Uchrin, Kansas City; sisters, Beth Curasi, Liberty, Laura Wagenknecht, Kansas City, and Lisa Wagenknecht, Holt; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at First United Methodist Church in Kearney, followed by a memorial service at 4 p.m. Burial will follow at a later date in Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kan. Arrangements are through Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Kearney. Memorial contributions may be made to the Liver Transplant Center at KU Medical Center.
