Patricia (Deaton) Wilson
Patricia “Pat” (Deaton) Wilson, 83, Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015. She was born in Memphis, Tenn., on January 26, 1932 to Charles Franklin Deaton and Anna Mae (Carey) Deaton. She married Daniel Meredith Wilson on January 31, 1953 in Memphis.
She and her husband moved to Excelsior Springs in 1971; she was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church. Some of her places of employment were Dr. Kent Powell, DDS office, the Water Bar at the Hall of Waters, and secretary at the Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of the Optimist Club of Excelsior Springs for many years and a current member of The Red Hat Society.
Some of her hobbies included playing Scrabble and card games with family and friends, bowling, going to the casino, watching Jeopardy, and teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren how to color. She enjoyed traveling and was a good cook.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three siblings.
Pat leaves four children, Larry Wilson of Mission, Kans. , Doug (Cyndee) Wilson of Smithville, Texas, Teresa (Dennis) Rowe of Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Ken (Melissa) Wilson of Shawnee, Kans.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves many friends whom she had known in her 40-plus years living in Excelsior Springs.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m., with a memorial service following at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, 217 W. Broadway, Excelsior Springs, MO.
