Roscoe Wayne Briant
Wayne Briant, 86, of Lawson, Mo., passed away February 1, 2016 at North Kansas City Hospital.
Wayne was born August 14, 1929 to Roscoe and Maureen Davis Briant in Plattsburg, Mo. Wayne was a graduate of Lawson High School. After graduation Wayne served in the U.S. Army. He and Lucille were married 65 years. Wayne was an active member of Lawson United Methodist Church as a church leader and Sunday school teacher. He was also a member of Bee Hive Lodge #393 for 60 years, 50 of those serving as secretary. He retired from TWA as a machinist in 1992. Wayne will be remembered as a kind and gentle man.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, John and Ina Fay Briant; brother-in-law, Bud Hitchcock; and granddaughter, Joy Nicole Briant.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille; son and daughter-in-law, David Wayne and Winnie Briant of Lawson; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and David Goes; son, Dan Briant of Blue Springs, Mo; sisters, Joann Shores and Elinora Hitchcock; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 5, 2016 at Lawson United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be given to the Church.
Arrangements are through Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.
