Richard Donald Humbard Sr.
Richard Donald Humbard Sr., 86, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., died at his home on December 31, 2014.
Donald was born May 11, 1928 in Fishing River Township of Clay County, Mo. He was the son of Minter and Elsie Lizzie Belle Duncan Humbard, both of whom preceded him in death.
Donald was united in marriage February 10, 1951 in Excelsior Springs, Mo., to Helen Pauline Teegarden, who preceded him in death March 22, 2011.
Donald was of the Baptist faith. Donald worked construction and at the Elms Hotel.
Donald is survived by three daughters, Patricia and Robert Ray of Sunrise Beach, Mo., Belinda and Michael Hensley, and Marsha and Richard Callahan, all of Eldon, Mo.; one son-in-law, Peter Schlup of Jamestown, Mo.; 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by daughter, Donna Schlup, Jamestown, Mo.; son, Richard Donald Humard Jr. of Richmond, Mo.; great-grandson, Angel Zungia of Eldon, Mo.; three brothers, Harry, Harold, and David Humbard; and four sisters, Isabelle Kimberlin, Dorothy Anderson, Blanche Shanks, and Elsie Humbard.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2014 at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs, Mo., with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Salem Historical Christian Church Cemetery.
