Richard Middleton
Richard E. (Dick) Middleton, 90, of Kearney, Mo., passed away January 1, 2012. Richard was born July 4, 1921, the son of Dudley Verne and Nancy McClintock Middleton. He graduated from Liberty High School in 1939, where he was Class Vice-President. He served in the U.S. Army in W.W. II as a second lieutenant. After the war, he had a career as a civil engineer and farmer. He was a member of Arley United Methodist Church, served on the District 6 Water Board and the Farmers Insurance Board.
Richard is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lillian; his daughter Lore and husband, Terry Barnes; son, Richard and wife, Billie Middleton; son, Mike and wife, Sharon Middleton; son, John and wife, Mary Middleton; son, Tom and wife, Sheila Middleton; and daughter Ruth and husband, Lee McCann; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2012, at Arley United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney, Mo. Burial will be in Arley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Arley United Methodist Church.
