Robert Edwin Miller
Robert Edwin Miller, 87, Kearney, Mo., passed away January 12, 2013 at his home. Robert was born December 15, 1925 in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Frank A. and Essie J. (Keeling) Miller. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and then the Army Reserves. August 13,1948 he married Marjorie Mae Newman in Independence, Mo.
Robert worked as a retail clerk for A & P Supermarkets. He was a 50 plus year Mason, belonging to Mt. Washington #614 AF & AM Lodge in Independence, Mo. He also belonged to American Legion Post 95 in Liberty, Mo. Robert and Marjorie enjoyed volunteering at the Liberty Hospital gift shop for a number of years.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Pauline Beck; and wife, Marjorie, on September 13, 2007.
He is survived by his son, Michael and wife, Susan Miller; daughter, Maudee Roos; grandchildren, Shelly Miller, Brian and wife, Jennifer Roos, Douglas Roos and wife, Ming Ye; and one great-grandson, Hayden Roos.
A memorial service will be held Friday, January 18, 2013 at 4 p.m. at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney, Mo., with visitation from 3 to 4 p.m. prior to services. Private burial at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Raytown, Mo., at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions to Salvation Army or Toys for Tots.
