Ruth Piburn
Ruth May Piburn, 97, died Friday, October 5, 2012 at Excelsior Springs Nursing & Rehab. Mrs. Piburn was born March 18, 1915 in Miami County, Kansas. She was the daughter of George Perry and Visa Jane (Thompson) Rudd. She was married to Jim Piburn on February 3, 1934. He preceded her in death February, 1991. She was also proceeded in death by a daughter, Linda Ruth Walker.
She was a homemaker and worked briefly in Excelsior Springs at the sewing factory, Avsco Plastics, and Spa View Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph Howard Rudd, James J. Rudd, Thomas Melvin Rudd, and William Paul Rudd; and one sister, Bessie Jane Rudd.
Survivors are children, Donna M. Davis and Philip R. Piburn; one brother, Albert P. Rudd; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday, October 12. Funeral services will be held at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs following visitation. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetary.
