Ricky "Rick" D. Williams
Ricky "Rick" D. Williams, 61, of Liberty, Mo., passed away January 29, 2016.
Rick was born December 29, 1954 in St. Joseph, Mo., to Virgil “Doc” and Betty (Bisig) Williams. After high school, Rick joined the Marines, where he proudly served his country. On October 21, 1978 he married Linda Dorrel. Together they had two daughters, Tawni and Megan.
Rick founded and ran his own painting company, MTL Painting, for over 20 years. He derived the name of his company from his wife, Linda and their daughters. Recently he worked as a supervisor for Integrated Airline Services, Inc.
Rick was a member of the First Christian Church of Savannah, Mo. He loved the Marines, the St. Louis Cardinals, hunting, fishing, bowling, playing slow pitch softball and cutting wood on the farm. As his girls were growing up, he and Linda were active in coaching their t-ball, softball, soccer, and basketball teams. He was also a very proud Grandpa, known to his grandchildren and many others as Pappy. He loved doing anything with his grandkids ... especially teasing them!
Rick is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda Williams; daughters, Tawni and David Bross and Megan Morrison; five grandchildren, Benjahmin Williams, Anastashia Williams, Daniel Bross, Tara Bross, and Ariella Morrison; his parents Virgil “Doc” and Betty Williams; brothers, Carey and Tammy Williams, and Jeff and Judy Williams; sister, Kim and Randy Bauman; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; as well as other extended family and friends.
Rick will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Kearney, Mo. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Glenridge Cemetery in Liberty, Mo.
