Satoko Chaney

Satoko Chaney of Kansas City, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at the age of 83.  Satoko was born to parents Fusamaru and Miyoshi Inaba.  She was born on February 14, 1932 in Higashiasai-gun, Shiga Prefecture, Japan and was the eldest of eight children. 

She came to the United States in 1957 and married James Lawson.  She worked at Rival Manufacturing, Parmalee and retired from North Kansas City Hospital in 1989. 

She is preceded in death by her parents and several members of her immediate family in Japan, her beloved mother-in-law, Maudie Lee Katz, and her beloved daughter, Sheila Ann Lawson.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen Clemens, Sharon Oster and Connie Lawson; grandchildren, Marilyn Banks, Paige Wright, Claire Clemens, Olivia Clemens, Isabelle Matthys and Jackson Clemens; great grandchildren, Harry and Elliott Banks; sons-in-law, Larry Clemens and Robert Oster; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Carolyn Lawson; and nieces, Cindy O’Connor and Pam Kocher.

She will always be remembered as a loving and patient mother, grandmother and great grandmother who encouraged everyone to pursue their goals in life.  She loved her family and loved life.

We will always love you and miss you.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to any animal rescue or charity.
