Susan Hiles
Susan Hiles, 54, Kearney, Mo., passed away September 7, 2016 at her home.
Susan, who was born November 16, 1961 to Howard and Norma Shippy. She lived her entire life in the Kansas City area. She attended McCoy and Henry Clay Grade School graduating from East High School in 1979. She received her certification in graphic arts from the vocational-technical education program that same year. She married Mark Hiles on October 18, 1980. They celebrated the births of their son, Joshua, on August 23, 1984 and their daughter, Traci, on August 14, 1990. Susan moved to Kearney, Mo., with her family in 1995 and lived there for the remainder of her life.
While Susan worked for many years she was most defined by her love of her family and friends. She devoted her time to planning family events, decorating her home and most of all to her grandchildren. Susan enjoyed many activities with her family and most notably trips to the zoo and quiet evenings at home.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents; aunt, Mildred Hutchens; and sister, Diana Schroer.
Susan is survived by her husband, Mark; children, Joshua Hiles and Traci McCall; brother, Brad Shippy; sisters, Karen Shippy and Sharon McCoy; grandchildren, Raylee Coates and Camden McCall; along with numerous other loving friends and family.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, with service at 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2016, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Kearney, M0.
