Susan Renea Mellon
Susan Renea Mellon, 53, Lawson, Mo., went to be with the Lord on May 14, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Susan was born October 27, 1961 to Gary and Virginia Mathews in Chillicothe, Mo. Susan worked at Lawson Bank, was a Mary Kay consultant and Zumba instructor. She was a very proud Mizzou Wrestling Mom and a member of the Take Down Club. Susan was a true inspiration to so many. Her smile was contagious. Susan’s love and passion for her faith, her family and her friends touched and inspired so many. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend.
She is survived by her husband, Danny; sons, Dustin and wife, Ashley Sullard, and Devin Mellon; daughter, Sheena and husband, Rickie Hicks; grandchildren, Brady, Preslee, Brennen, Greenli and Everlee; father, Gary Mathews; mother, Virginia Mathews; sister, Madonna Tyler; brothers, Danny Mathews, and Shane and wife, Chryz Mathews; and a large extended family and many friends.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Lawson Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2015, also at the church, burial following at Lawson Cemetery. The family suggests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to the family to be used for a memorial tribute in her name.
Arrangements are through Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.
