Susan Spence
Susan Elaine Spence, 66, Platte City, Mo., passed away Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at her home. Susan was born Feb. 3, 1945, in Unionville, Mo., to Cloyd Pearl and Pauline Lucille Terry Spence. She worked as an executive assistant for the Platte County Health Department.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her son, Terry, and wife, Laura Hutchison, Platte City, Mo.; daughter, Jody, and husband, Randy Mitchell, Kansas City, Mo.; sister and her husband, Reverend Ralph and Karen Howard, Independence, Mo.; sister and her husband, Reverent Max and Jean Jones, Sioux City, Iowa; brother and his wife, Terry and Linda Spence, Unionville, Mo.; grandchildren, Geoffrey Sean Hutchison, Adam Scott Hutchison, Tara Leigh Hutchison, Andrea Lynn Mitchell, Daniel and Bethany Anne Sams, Zachary Mark Casey Deitrickson, Max Robert Paul Deitrickson and Brock Landon Mitchell; and great-grandchildren, Decan Scott Hutchison, Peyton Nikole Sams and Gage Walker Sams.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, at Flack Memorial Christian Union Church, Excelsior Springs, Mo., with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, in the Unionville Cemetery, Unionville, Mo. Arrangements are through Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Kearney, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to FOPAS, Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter.
