Shirley Squires
Shirley Ann Squires, 85, Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away August 20, 2012 in her home. Shirley was born in Hannibal, Mo., on August 20, 1927 to Fern and James Curtis.
She graduated from Hannibal High School and later attended Hannibal LaGrange College. She worked as office manager for Scherer Truck Equipment in Kansas City, Mo., for more than 25 years. She and her husband, A.G. Squires, Jr. were avid travelers and were members of the Holiday Ramblers Organization. Shirley was a member of the Barbee Memorial Presbyterian Church and a P.E.O.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, A.G. Squires, Jr. and brother, Gene Curtis of Quincy, Ill.
Survivors include her son and daughter in-law, Gil and Susan Squires, and grandchildren, Cate and A.G. Squires of Kansas City, Mo.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2012 at Barbee Memorial Presbyterian Church, Excelsior Springs. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions to Cottey College or Barbee Memorial Presbyterian Church may be made in lieu of flowers.
