Theodore William "Ted" Amberg, Jr.
Theodore William "Ted" Amberg, Jr., 88, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord On Sunday, August 28, 2016, surrounded by family, most especially his beloved wife, Suzanne.
Born in Westwood Hills, Kans., to Ora McCaslin Amberg and Theodore William Amberg, he attended Shawnee Mission West High School followed by the University of Kansas, and worked in property management in downtown Kansas City, Mo., for his entire career. He was an Eagle Scout, and loved his time spent in the Tribe of Mic-o-say with his late brother, John Amberg. A devout Catholic, he spent many hours in prayer during his final years.
In addition to Suzanne, with whom he celebrated a 60th anniversary this past June, he leaves behind son, Theodore William (Marcy) Amberg, III, and Melinda Amberg (Stan) Vajdic, and five deeply loved grandchildren who knew how lucky they were to have such a man for a Pop-Pop.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2016, at the Church of the Annunciation in Kearney, Mo. A visitation will be held directly beforehand at 10 a.m. Burial will be private. The family is deeply grateful for those who cared so well for him in his declining years, especially Westbrook Care Center, Excelsior Springs Nursing and Rehab, and Three Rivers Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Children's Mercy Hospital, ATTN: Department of Philanthropy, 2401 Gillham Rd., Kansas City, MO 64108.
