Wanda Moberly

Wanda Faye Moberly, 89, Kearney, Mo., died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Mo. Ms. Moberly was born Sept. 19, 1920, northeast of Kearney, the only child of Newton J. and Sarah Alice (Holt) Duncan. She was employed as an inspector at the Linda Lane Garment Company in Excelsior Springs. She then served for 24 years at the Clay County Sheriff’s Department and Circuit Court Division 6, retiring in 1981. She was married to Kenneth Franklin Moberly on Aug. 31, 1940. She was a member of Kearney First Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Moberly; a son, Jerry Moberly; and a great-grandson, Max Stegall. Survivors include two daughters, June Manar, Liberty, and Joyce Ervin, Kearney; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, at Kearney First Baptist Church; burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kearney. Arrangements are through Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Kearney. Memorial contributions may be made to Kearney First Baptist Church.
