It is with deep sorrow that we announce Margie Catherine Myers, 86, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026 at Homestead of Overland Park. A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, devoted to her family will be missed.

Margie was born in Pilot Grove, Missouri, to Joseph H. Bonen and Bertha A. (Schneider) Bonen. She moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she met and married John R. Myers. Together they had six children. While raising her children she worked several places, including Tupperware, Liberty Christian Church, and Dairy Queen. She eventually went to work for the Small Business Administration in the Kansas City Regional office where she retired from after 22 years of service. After retirement she joined a water therapy class known as the QuackPac where many friendships were developed. She was an active member of St. James Catholic Church and St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church.

Margie is preceeded in death by her parents; a brother, Donald Bonen; two sisters and their spouses, Anna Mae Schlotzhauer (Paul) and Norma (Franklyn) Esser; and her ex-husband John Myers.

She is survived by a sister, Grace (Roger) Chrisman; her children, Marsha (Greg), Barbara (Kenny), Douglas (Cheryl), Sharon (Craig), Kevin (Monica), and Edward; 26 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren with one on the way.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to those at Meals on Wheels who brought her lunch and friendship, the staff at Homestead of Overland Park who made her stay more enjoyable, and Interim Hospice who made her last days pain free.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026 followed by Mass at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, Liberty, Mo., with burial following at New Hope Cemetery, Liberty, Mo.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. James Catholic Church in Liberty or Meals on Wheels of Liberty.
