Gladys Rosalie Hunt, Excelsior Springs, MO, passed away July 3, 2026.

Rosalie married the love of her life, Lynn Lloyd Hunt in December of 1947. Together they raised two sons, Allen and Robert, on the family farm here in Excelsior Springs, Missouri.

Rosalie had a lifelong passion for painting and was an accomplished china painter. She was a proud member of The China Painters International and the China Painters of Kansas City. Her beautiful art work has been displayed in many homes throughout the community and continues to be cherished today.

For many years, Rosalie owned Hunt’s Gifts in Excelsior Springs where she built friendships and meaningful connections with countless members of the community. She especially loved birds, particularly hummingbirds, which were a favorite subject in her work.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lynn Lloyd Hunt; her son, Allen Hunt; great-grandson, Cooper Scott Miller; along with her parents, George W. and Mabel Sams; and six siblings.

She is survived by her son, Robert Hunt (Chris Hunt); daughter-in-law, Susan Hunt; grandchildren, Mandy Chapman (Cody Chapman), Joshua Hunt (Melinda Hunt), Kristin Jackson (James Jackson), and Paul Hunt (Caitlin); as well as her eight great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, July 10, 2026 at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs with graveside services following at 11:30 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, MO.
