Cindy Kay (Harper) Siefers

Cindy Siefers

Cindy Kay (Harper) Siefers, 66, passed peacefully on Wednesday, August 26th, 2026, surrounded by her family after a courageous journey with ovarian cancer.

She was born February 24th, 1960, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Rhodes Wayne Harper and Madeline Kay Harper. Because of her father’s service as a Navy chaplain, Cindy spent her childhood in places including Honolulu, Oceanside, and Ridgecrest, California. It was in California that she met the love of her life, Dennis Siefers, through her close friendship with his sister, Dawn Marie.

Cindy and Dennis were married on April 12th, 1980, beginning a partnership that spanned more than 46 years and was rooted in love, laughter and unwavering devotion.

A lifelong theatre artist, Cindy worked as an actress, producer, director, stage manager and scenic creator. She was especially devoted to the Coterie Theatre in Kansas City, where she believed deeply in the importance of bringing high-quality, educational and entertaining theatre to children.

She inspired audiences both on and off the stage, but her greatest gift was helping others discover and pursue their own talents. Cindy had a remarkable ability to see potential in people before they saw it in themselves, gently connecting others with opportunities, with encouragement, and making them feel at home. She cherished being a wife, mother and grandmother, creating a home where everyone felt welcome.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Dennis Siefers; her son, Aaron Siefers and his wife Megan Downs; her daughter, Keely Hundley and her husband Justin Hundley; grandchildren, Flynn Hundley, Logan Hundley and Emily Fostich; her brother, Timothy Harper; and many dear friends and fellow artists whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Madeline and Wayne Harper.

A visitation celebrating Cindy’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 19th, 2026, at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance or the Coterie Theatre, in Cindy’s honor.
