Victor Junior Fletcher, 86, Excelsior Springs, Mo., was born September 25, 1931 to Victor Ruel Fletcher and Helen Marie (Houston) Fletcher. Victor and Helen also had another son, John Raymond. Victor graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1949.
Vic joined the U.S. Army, Artillery Division in January 1952 and served in Korea before his discharge in 1954.
He met Elizabeth Jane Lewis in January of 1954 and they were married June 11, 1954 at Winwood Baptist Church. To this union were born Larry Dean and Cheryl Lynn.
In 1966 the Fletcher family moved from Kansas City to Excelsior Springs, where they resided until his death.
Victor is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; son, Larry (Barb) Fletcher; brother, John Fletcher; grandchildren, Justin (Lupe) Fletcher; Joshua (Melissa) Fletcher, Jeremy (Karlissa) Fletcher, Leslie (Chris) Sanderson, Crystal (Jeff) Anderson, and William (Jessie) Penick; 16 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, daughter, Cheryl Sidebotton, granddaughter, Tammy Eslick, and great grandson, John Fletcher.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, March 12, 2018 at Excelsior Springs Baptist Church with service immediately following. Burial with full military honors following at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Gladstone, Mo. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the church.
