Barbara M. Hay passed away peacefully on November 29, 2018 at her home.
Barbara was born July 22, 1941 in Excelsior Springs, Mo., to Paul W. and Maud L. (Lamb) Hay. She was a graduate of Excelsior Springs High School, William Jewell College, with a Masters Degree in Education Administration from UMKC. Barbara taught in the Excelsior Springs School District for 30 years. Barbara was also very active in her church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maud and Paul Hay.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Lesa and Jeffrey Wathen; brother and sister-in-law, Paul D. and Janet Hay; grandchildren, Paul Wathen, LynnDee Wathen, A.J. Wathen and Kelley (Wathen) Keymer and her husband, Kory Keymer; her niece, Angela (Hay) Reschke, and great niece, Myranda Reschke.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 13, 2018 at The First United Methodist Church-Excelsior Springs, with visitation to precede from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
