Glenda June Cole, 71, Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away March 9, 2019.
Glenda was born April 11, 1947 to Glenn and Maida Thornton in Indianola, Iowa. She retired from Excelsior Springs Walmart where she enjoyed greeting customers with a friendly smile for many years. Glenda loved her family and looked forward to their yearly reunions, she enjoyed keeping up with everyone on Facebook. She was active in PTO when her children were growing up. She had a heart for animals, especially her beloved dogs.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her children, Tony Wayne Cole, Tina Cole Duttenhefer (Leon), Tracy Glenn Cole (Charity); grandchildren, Kristin R. Heald, Ryan A. Cole, Danelle M. Cole, Breanna M. Cole, Broxton G. Cole, Bryliegh L. Cole, Gaton A. Heald, Rylan C. Heald, Bella F. Cole, Kolbe R. Cole, Brennan T. Hendricks, Hieth E. McClendon, Grace A. Duttenhefer, Sam J. Duttenhefer; siblings, Donald G. Thornton (Janice M.), Judy K. Conklin, Carol S. Madorin, Dennis L. Thornton (Karen), Kevin A. Thornton, Rick Grimes (Terri), Randall Thornton (Michelle), Rhonda L. Ahern (Nathan); many nieces, nephews, friends and her dog, Jodi.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2019 with service following at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs, Mo. Burial at Hillcrest Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, Mo. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations to Wayside Waifs.
