On Tuesday, December 31, 2019, Matthew Murlin Crane, loving husband and father of six children, passed away at age 59.
Matthew was born on October 27, 1960 in Olathe, Kansas to Charles and Corlene (Smith) Crane. On February 8, 1997, he married Jenell Marie Crane. Their marriage brought together a beautiful blended family of six children.
Matthew had a passion for creating and fixing things. He was known as a handy-man and Jack of all trades. If you had an idea, Matthew could turn it into a reality. If something was broken he would not only repair it, but make it better than the original. He loved traveling with his wife and trying new things. He was known for his loyalty, his hard work, and his selfless service to others.
Matthew was preceded in death by his father, Charles, and his mother, Corlene.
He is survived by his wife Jenell; his children, Christy and husband Mark, Michael and wife Tanya, Matthew, Cameron and wife Amanda, Caleb, and Chelsea; his brother, Mitch and wife Tamara; and his sisters, Cathy and husband Ray, and Connie and husband Richard. He is survived by his beautiful grandchildren, Quentyn, Charity, Charles, Annabelle, Cassidy and Jackson.
Matt’s family would love to say a special ‘thank you’ to the ICU nurses and doctors at Kansas City Medical Center. They worked tirelessly making sure Matt was comfortable and had everything he needed during his time there.
Matt’s Celebration of Life will be held at First United Methodist Church in Kearney, MO. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 1 to 2 p.m. and the service will begin at 2 p.m.
