Ronald “Ronnie” Fields

Ronald FieldsMr. Ronald “Ronnie” Fields, son of Samuel Fields and Bertha Fields was born February 3, 1960 in Paterson, New Jersey. He attended the public schools in Paterson and was a graduate of Passaic County Technical Vocational High School where he excelled in athletics (football and track) and machine shop. At an early age Ron showed talent in his athletics, so much so, Ron was able to continue his education through an Athletic Football Scholarship at North Carolina Central University.

He was united in holy matrimony to Marsha Fields in July of 1984. This union was blessed with two children (Shavonne and Morgan).

Ronald was an active member of the youth athletics program in Macon, Georgia, where he coached young athletes in football, boxing, basketball, and track and field. Ron truly loved his community of Macon, Georgia and was a resident of the county until March of 2019, when he moved to Kansas City, Mo., to be closer to his two daughters.

His beautiful life will forever be cherished through lives of his family, friends and those who loved him: his mother, Bertha Marie Johnson; his daughters and son-in-laws, Shavonne Hull (Adam) and Morgan Hale (Christopher), his grandchildren, Marcus Hale, Charli Hale, Corryn Hale, Kamilla Hull, and Adam Hull Jr.; his four siblings, Warren Fields (Janence), Gwendolyn Fields, Samuel Fields Jr., and Gregory Fields; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

My deepest condolences to the Field family. Ron and I became friends many years ago. I was one of many whom was in his wedding. What a great day, Ron and I share many great memories. Ron was a good man. A big heart and cared about others. It was a honor to be called his friend. I’m glad we kind of kept in touch, rest in peace Ronald Fields. I know you are one of God’s soldiers. Thanks for my first pair of Ferragamo shoes, LOL. Until we meet again, peace…

My Brother and former roommate at NCCU. We had so many bright moments as 2 incoming East Coast freshman at NC Central. You hailed from Paterson, NJ and me from Syracuse, NY.  I remember when you had your home boy Mel Williams ( East HS) live in our dorm without being enrolled at the university. Crazy times. lol
We last hung out at your house (1980’s) in Paterson when I drove down and spent the night.  Unfortunately, I  lost contact with you and Willams due to me enlisting in the Military for 22 years. Dang
Until we meet again!! Blessings to all your family … M. Spease… RIP
