James Talley Sr., 83, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away Monday, October 5, 2020 at his home from natural causes.
Mr. Talley was born on November 3, 1936 in Kansas City, Mo. He was a member of Woodland Baptist Church. He retired from Haggard Heavy Hauling after a 30 year career. He enjoyed his trucks and dogs. He relished spending time with his family in his later years. He was a wonderful grandpa and could be seen rolling on the floor with his grandkids and great grandkids.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and Gertrude Talley; sisters, Daisy McCubbin and Francis Dorman; brothers, Junior Talley and Richard Talley; and son, Jake Talley.
His survivors include spouse, Wyanda Talley; brother, Phillip and his wife, Dottie; brother-in-law, Marvin Dorman; sons, Jim Talley, John Talley, Jack Talley and Mark Whitmire; daughters, Debbie Duncan and Jeannie Reuscher. He also leaves behind a large and loving family of 15 grandkids and 13 great grandchildren.
James will be in-state for viewing from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Friday, October 9, 2020 at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, 217 W. Broadway, Excelsior Springs, MO. Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday at New Garden North Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Woodland Baptist Church, 11023 Hwy H, Liberty, MO 64068.
