Don “Donnie” H. Overbey, 80, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., died Sunday, November 8, 2020. Don was born December 9, 1939 in Plattsburg, Mo., to Francis and Grace (Wayman) Overbey. His family moved to Excelsior Springs when he was 5 years old and has lived here ever since. He was an Excelsior Springs High School graduate in 1957. Don was a veteran of the United States Army. Don retired from the Ford Motor Co. after 38 years.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Mark Sharp.
Survivors include his wife, Nedra; a daughter, Marcia (Randy ) Smith of Cameron, Mo.; grandchildren, great grandchildren; sister, Kay Overbey; and nieces.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Excelsior Springs with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the VFW in Excelsior Springs.
