Rosa Lee passed peacefully on November 13, 2020 at the age of 91 while surrounded by her loving family.
She leaves behind her four children, Cheryle Stephan and husband Greg, Ronald Routh, Michael Routh, and Debbi LeGros and husband David. She leaves behind ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one sibling, Dale Hensley, and many nieces and nephews who all adored her.
Rosie, as she was known to all her friends, was born in Collins, Mo., to Austin and Beulah Hensley on November 19, 1928. She was the fourth child of the six children born in this union.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Routh, who passed away June 24 of this year; her parents; her siblings, Alvin Hensley, Bureldine Hensley, Gearldine Swindler and Mildred Spoor; her daughter-in-law, Terri Routh; and grand-daughter, Rebecca Stephan.
She and Bill celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on September 24, 2019. They lived in Lee’s Summit, Mo., for the last 50 years.
Rosie loved working with children. She was employed at Lee’s Summit’s La Petite Daycare Academy for over twenty years. She also spent many a summer working at her church’s Vacation Bible School. Rosie loved attending family and school reunions. She spent hours talking with everyone who attended and enjoyed making them laugh. She loved traveling across the United States. Colorado was her favorite state.
Per her wish, she was cremated. A Memorial Service will be held for her and Bill Routh on a date yet to be determined.
Rosa Lee will certainly be missed by all who knew her!
