Shirley Holt, 88, of Lawson, Missouri, passed away on July 20, 2021, at her daughter’s home in Kearney, Missouri.
Shirley was born October 31, 1932, in Kansas City, Missouri, to John and Helen Bush. She was married to Dayton Holt on November 6, 1953.
Shirley was active in many organizations and spent many years as a secretary at Southwest Elementary. While there, she loved and cared for many of the students. She enjoyed painting and creating floral arrangements while employed at the flower shop in Lawson. But whatever she was doing, she was usually with her best friend, Betty Gray. Where you saw one, you usually saw the other.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Dayton, only 10 months ago, and by her father, mother, and half-brother.
Survivors include her daughter, Pam (Bob); grandson, Beau (Emily); and granddaughter, Kelsey, all of Kearney; and four great grandchildren, Brooklynn and Jaxson Handley and Rylee and Maci Lynch.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 23, 2021 from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at Lawson Cemetery, with graveside service immediately following. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to KC Pet Project.
Arrangements in care of Bross & Spidle Funeral Home Lawson Chapel.

Mom and I are so sorry, Both parents in a year is a lot to handle.
Mom still can’t leave the nursing home. If she could we would be there.
