September 20, 1951 ~ March 19, 2022
Michael David Pence, son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather, left this world to spend eternity with those loved ones who made the journey before him. Born in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Michael spent most of his adult life in city management.
Retiring as a gentleman farmer in Platte County, with wife Cindy, Michael volunteered his time and expertise to several local boards and districts. Michael was a conservationist at heart and treated his property accordingly. Woodworker, mechanic, hunter, and amateur inventor, he was able to take apart and reconstruct several vehicles, but alas, could only teach his little brother how to change the oil. In 2019, Mike and Cindy built a home in Sequim, Washington, where they spent three wonderful years together. While there, of course, the city asked Mike to fill a vacancy on the city council; serving admirably as the only member with any prior city management experience.
Michael was lovingly raised by his parents, David and Joellen Pence, who preceded Mike in everlasting life.
Michael leaves his wife, Cindy; brother, Tim and Nancy Pence; two children, Samantha Ayers and Amanda DuBose; and six grandchildren. Until we meet again brother. …
A memorial visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney, MO.
Our Sincere Condolences
Rest In Peace, Mike. You made a difference for the better wherever you lived, whatever you did. You are missed.
