Margaret Hampton, 88, of Liberty, MO, passed away August 7, 2022 at Liberty Health and Wellness. Margaret was born and raised on a farm in Jameson, MO (Daviess County, MO), to Howard and Edna (Kirkpatrick) Mills on August 24, 1933.
She worked at Guy’s Foods in Liberty, MO, for 10 years and several other jobs before retiring. During retirement she enjoyed odd jobs like cleaning her son’s plumbing shop and various hobbies like visiting shut-ins, gardening, and spending time with her family.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Howard and Edna Mills; her sister, Dorothy McNeely; and nephew, Marvin McNeely.
Margaret leaves behind her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her children are son, Larry (Karen) Hampton of Kearney, and daughter, Veva (Danny) Ellis of Liberty; grandchildren, Dustin (Lori) Hampton, Jessica (Dave) Stephenson, and Kristen (Chris) Casey of Kearney; and great grandchildren, Broc and Maquel Hampton of Kearney. Margaret leaves behind other nieces, nephews, and many friends.
The family extends a special thanks to Liberty Health & Wellness and Oak Pointe of Kearney for taking such great care of her in her final years.
A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Kearney, MO, with a service to follow. She will be buried at Mt. Olivet in Kearney following the service.
