August 22, 1945-June 3, 2023
Shirley Diane Lamley Reyes, 77 years old, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospice House.
Diane was born on August 22, 1945 in Excelsior Springs, MO, to Oscar and Betty (Williams) Lamley. In the early years she worked for Guys Potato Chips and then went on to work for JE Dunn as a Job Time Keeper for 32 years before retiring. She was the first woman in the field.
On August 8, 1979 she married the love of her life, Angel Reyes. Diane enjoyed playing softball, bowling, hunting, fishing and Sunday family dinners where she fixed the best fried chicken. Her passion was traveling with her husband, children and grandchildren. Mexico was her home away from home.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Betty Lamley; her brothers, Gordon Keith and Michael Eugene Lamley; and her daughter-in-law, Rosa Metzger.
Diane is survived by her husband, Angel; brother, Gary Lamley; four children, Marnie (Mike) Irsik, Chris Metzger, Carmen (Victor) Reyes, and Kellie (David) Metzger; 11 grandchildren, Victor (Gianna) Aguirre, Megan (Brian) Kimberlin, Cinthia (Jerry) Reyes, Jennah Irsik, Angel (Nate) Biggs, Gerald Hamrick, Verenice (Ramon) Rodriguez, Brandon Hamrick, Jacob Hamrick, Jaden Hamrick, and Kristin Hamrick; and 17 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 8, 2023 with services at 11:00 a.m. at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs, MO.
