On Sunday, August 27, 2023 Glenn W. Hamlett, loving husband, father, brother and grandfather, passed away.
Glenn was born July 21, 1930 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Oren A. and Eva A. (Lewis) Hamlett. He enlisted into the Marine Corps July 11, 1950. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with Star and the United Nations Ribbon. Glenn retired from Best Food Corn products and later from Operating Engineers Local 101.
Glenn had an unquestionable love of faith and family. He attended church faithfully for as long as his health permitted. He studied his Bible daily.
He is survived by children, Cheryl Taylor (Bobby), Vickie Nash (Pete), Glennda Lang (Jimmy), Oren Hamlett and Lisa Hamlett; and one step-daughter, Teresa Havens (Neil). He is also survived by one sister, Donna Hamlett of Holden; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Hamlett; his parents, Oren and Eva Hamlett; step-daughter, Linda Greenough; sisters, Wanda Hamlett and Bonnie Edgington; and brothers, Oren Hamlett and Paul Hamlett.
Glenn had a love for the country, water skiing and fishing with family and friends. He farmed for many years and enjoyed his time outdoors.
Funeral services will be held at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Lawson Chapel, Lawson, Mo., on Thursday, August 31, 2023. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with funeral services to follow. Burial at Lawson Cemetery.
