Donna Jean Duncan, 88, of Excelsior Springs, passed on Monday, December 18, 2023 at Oak Pointe in Kearney, MO.
Donna was born on October 7, 1935, on the family farm near Richmond, MO, to Marvin and Vera Robinson. She was united in marriage to Darrell W. Duncan on November 16, 1955. He preceded her in death on August 28, 1995. They were happily married for 39 years.
Survivors include son, Bradley Duncan of Excelsior Springs; daughters, Nancy McKinney (Paul) of Excelsior Springs and Lori Schwartz (Brad) of Lenexa, KS; brother, Billy Robinson (Janice) of Orrick; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Donna was raised and educated in the area of her birth and graduated in 1953 from Richmond High School. In addition to being a housewife she worked for several years as a proofreader at The Daily Standard. Much of her working career (35 years) was spent working for a local chiropractic office. She retired from her position in 2020 at the young age of 85. Donna was a member of Excelsior Springs Baptist Church, where she was active member of her Sunday school class. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. Donna had a giving heart and was always willing to help those in need. She spent time with the ladies at church with Samaritan Purse boxes and giving to causes she believed in such as Disabled American Veterans.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral services at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Excelsior Springs Baptist Church.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Excelsior Springs Baptist Church to use for the Samaritan’s Purse Shoebox Project, 1500 Rosalea Street, Excelsior Springs, MO 64024.

Our deepest condolences to Bradley, Nancy & Lori. Aunt Donna was always so sweet and kind every time we saw her. We were grateful for all the times she took Grandma places. She thought a lot of her. May all the good memories help heal your hearts during this difficult time. Just know what a sweet impression she made on all of those that knew her.
