Richard William Fouts, 63, of Kearney, Missouri, passed away at his home surrounded by his friends and family on October 20, 2024.
Rick was born July 21, 1961, in Kearney, Missouri, and graduated from Kearney Senior High School in 1979. He started working for his father from a young age and continued doing drywall and construction work until his retirement in 2023.
Rick’s son and two grandsons were his biggest pride and joy in life. He absolutely loved going to family get-togethers, meeting friends and family for ice cream in Paradise, and going out to eat BBQ or for a good steak. Charley’s Steak House in Florida was a frequent haunt of his during family vacations. His favorite pastime was fishing. He would make frequent trips with his friends and relatives to Osceola, Missouri, to go catfishing.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, Richard Lee Fouts, mother, Virginia Mae (Cypret) Fouts, and his grandparents.
He is survived by his wife, Susan (Schmidt) Fouts; son, Richard Michael Fouts; daughter-in-law, Kelsey (Baldwin) Fouts; grandsons, Gunner Lee Fouts and Tucker Ray Fouts, all from Kearney; and many more loved family and friends.
Rick lived his life doing what he loved and by spending it with his favorite people. He brought joy and laughter to wherever he was and will be missed beyond measure by everyone who knew him.
A celebration of life to honor and remember Rick will be held on November 15, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Updike Barn Event Center located at 16600 Hwy. C, Kearney, Missouri 64060.
