Mary Jo Aldrich-Hyatt, 89, of rural Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024 at home with her family around her. Mary Jo was born to Joseph H. Turner and Mary Faye (Writesman) Turner on February 19, 1935 at home. Mary attended 1st through 8th grade at Lunsford School, then went to Excelsior Springs High School where she was a majorette and graduated. Mary was a homemaker and Pastor’s wife. She touched many lives serving Christ, especially after she was diagnosed with cancer in March of 2022.
Mary was preceded in death by both her parents; an older brother, Billy Ray; twin brothers, Marvin Gene and Melvin Dene; and her first husband, Lloyd Aldrich.
Mary was united in marriage to Russell Hyatt on July 1, 1972. Russell was a Pastor and Mary supported him in his ministry for over 52 years. Russell survives of the home. She is also survived by a daughter, Marcia Aldrich-Behlke (James) of Springdale, Ark.; three sons, Marvin (Denise) Aldrich, Plain Dealings, La., Dennis (Kim) Aldrich, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Darrell (Pam) Aldrich, Excelsior Springs, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Jeff, Hope, Shane, Yvonne, Lane, Bethany, Mary Grace, and Alden. She was blessed with 12 great grandchildren and seven great, great grandchildren; a number of cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024 at Union Baptist Church rural Orrick, Mo. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. with services following at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Moore Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
We would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who have taken care of her over the past few years. Mary will be greatly missed by her family and anyone who was blessed to have known her. Bye till we see you again in Heaven.
