Edna Mae Whitmore, 81, of Excelsior Springs, MO, passed away peacefully on her journey to heaven on January 9, 2025. Edna was born on February 24, 1943 in Excelsior Springs, MO, to parents Edgar and Mabel Stoufer of Excelsior Springs, MO.
Edna was a very dedicated person to her career. She spent nearly 50 years working in the banking industry. In her spare time, Edna was a high ranking member/volunteer of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the VFW of Excelsior Springs. She enjoyed the friendships she made through the Excelsior Springs Senior Center and Senior Life Solutions. She made lifelong friends there along the way. She also attended Pleasant Valley Baptist Church for many years where she was faithfully devoted to Christ.
Edna cherished her family. Her pride and joys were her son, Mark Blair, granddaughters, Michelle Blair and Marsha Marrant, and great grandchildren, Miley and Raelyn. She enjoyed lunch and dinner dates weekly and sometimes daily with her grandchildren. She raised her grandchildren like her own. She was dog lover as well, her three dogs Spunky, Andy and CiCi always meant so much to her. She was a very independent and strong willed person that took care of business on her own.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Stoufer and Mabel Greer Stoufer.
She leaves behind her son, Mark Blair; granddaughters, Marsha (Blair) Marrant, Thomas Marrant, Michelle Blair; grandson, Steven Miniski; and great-grandchildren, Miley, Raelyn and Dylan.
Graveside services are January 16, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Excelsior Springs, MO provided by Bross & Spidle Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life dinner will be held at the Elks Lodge in Excelsior Springs, MO, on January 18, 2025 at 4 p.m.
