1948-2025
Fred Phillip Yeager, 76, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, left us on January 11, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones at home, after bravely battling complications from COPD. To honor his legacy, a heartfelt celebration of life will take place at the creek on his property — his cherished sanctuary — where his family will lovingly spread his ashes.
Fred was born on August 16, 1948, to Fredrick Joseph Yeager and Bertha Marie O’Dell. Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Fred was shaped by the values instilled in him by his parents. He was a proud graduate of Rockhurst High School and pursued his passion for HVAC by obtaining his certification at a junior college, dedicating his life to a rewarding career in the field.
Shortly after, Fred met Candice Vincent, fell in love with her, and proposed marriage. They soon discovered their ideal lifelong home: a 20-acre property in the countryside of Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Not long after settling in, they welcomed their beloved son, Matthew.
Fred loved living in the open spaces of the countryside, where he valued his independence and the freedom to do as he pleased on his property. He and his wife enjoyed gardening and cultivated both annual and perennial flower gardens that flourished year after year.
He was an avid reader and a history enthusiast who always enjoyed a good laugh, a cold beer, and time with his beloved dogs. He cherished spending time with his family, which included his wife Candice, his son Matthew, his sister Cathy, and his nephews Joe and Tyler, as well as his niece Lisa.
Fred’s lighthearted and kind spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew and loved him, and his absence will be deeply felt by all.
Peace be with you.
Arrangements are in care of Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.
