George A. Brock, 63, of Lawson, Missouri, passed away the morning of January 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
George was born April 13, 1961 to George Edward and Norma Jean (O’Dell) Brock. He grew up in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, and graduated Excelsior Springs High School in 1979. He then continued his education at Northwest Missouri State University where he obtained a Bachelors in Agricultural Business Management. Once a Bearcat, always a Bearcat.
George wore many hats throughout his time on earth. From outdoorsman to auctioneer, farmer to salesman, amateur chef, son, brother, uncle and fiercely loyal friend. The titles he held in the highest regard were loving husband, father and Poppy. He had a passion for traveling, the outdoors, good food, Kansas City sports and NASCAR. He never met a stranger, and he’d give you the shirt off his back. He loved hard, and will be deeply missed by many.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, George and Norma Brock; his in laws, Earl and Gwen Bradbury; and many others. We’re certain he had one heck of a welcoming party!
Survivors include his loving wife, Sandra, and daughter, Bethany Brock, of the home; his daughter and son in law, Kelly and Jake Rhoads, of Greenwood, Missouri; one granddaughter, Maylee Rhoads; his sister and brother in law, Larry and Sheila Williams, of Kearney, Missouri; as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and loyal friends.
The visitation will take place Friday, February 7, 2025 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, 217 W. Broadway Ave., Excelsior Springs, MO 64024. Immediately following will be a Celebration of Life at The Atlas Saloon, in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. The family encourages you to attend, and wear your favorite sports team, unless that happens to be the Kansas Jayhawks, please leave that attire at home :).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you make a donation to the Missouri Conservation Department, American Cancer Society or your favorite charity organization, in honor of George.
Our Sincere Condolences
The Demco family extends our deepest condolences to the family of George Brock. George was a pleasure to work with. Whenever we talked to him, he was always a positive person, great to get along with and a true professional. We are better off as a result of having the opportunity to work with him and will greatly miss him.

I’ve known George since he was 4 or 5 as I graduated high school with his sister, Sheila. In later years George and his family were customers at my pharmacy in Lawson for decades so I spoke with him frequently over the years. I would ask him about his sister and Larry as they didn’t live here at the time. George was always friendly, kind and patient!! I’m sorry I couldn’t make the visitation but I send my best to his wife and family and Sheila and Larry.
