Don Lee Covert was born to Donna Larson Covert and Vernard Covert on July 2, 1956 in Ottawa, Iowa. He lived most of his life in Excelsior Springs, MO.
On May 3, 1975 he married Mary Teegarden and were to celebrate 50 years together this year.
They were blessed with one son, Vernard Covert, who became Don’s best friend.
Most of his work career he was an excellent machinist for Jesse James Machine Shop. After he became disabled, he lived a quiet life with his wife and going to visit his son on his farm.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernard and Donna Covert; and two brothers, Terry and Perry Ray Covert.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Covert; his son, Vernard Covert; his brothers, Jay Covert, Leland Covert, Richard Covert and their wives; many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Stumpy. Also his wife’s family who loved him just as much.
He was a very good man and will be greatly missed. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
