Ronald Jay Lewis, 82, of Lawson, Mo., went to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 24, 2025, surrounded by his family at North Kansas City Hospital.

Ronnie was born September 16, 1942 and shares his birthday with his twin brother, Donnie Lewis. Ronnie was born in Elmira, Mo., to LH “Pard” and Carlene Lewis, who proceeded him in death. Ronnie has four brothers, Donnie Lewis of the home, Steve Lewis of Lawson, Larry (Gloria) Lewis of Excelsior Springs, and David (Opal) Lewis of Liberty.

Ronnie married his high school sweetheart Bonnie Rae, who preceded him in death. They were married for over 50 years.

Ronnie was a 1960 graduate of Lawson High School. Ronnie boxed for the Golden Gloves of greater Kansas City after graduation. He entered into the work force in April of 1962. He was employed at General Motors Company for 33.5 years. Ronnie was a longtime member of Barbee Memorial Presbyterian Church, Excelsior Springs, Mo. Ronnie loved to stay busy, he had several different jobs after he retired from GM. He worked at Evans Fuel Station for many years and he loved seeing the customers. Fishing was a great love, too. He spent time sharing this with his kids and grandkids.

Ronnie was a loving husband, Dad and Grandpa to his family. The grandkids enjoyed spending time with him as they grew up. He loved to attend their sporting events and school activities. Ronnie has three children, Jeff (Lisa) Lewis of Lawson, Kevin (Jena) Lewis of Brookfield, and Sabrina (Tom) Hunter of Kansas City, Mo.; 13 grandchildren, Holden (Olivia) Lewis, Landon (Leah) Lewis, Cameron Lewis, Gerad (Krystal) Pedersen, Gillian (Matt) Earnest, Grant (Taylor) Pedersen, Hunter (Jade) Lewis, Austin, Ashlyn, Anthony and Andrew Cupp, Abi (Jack) Ray and Kaleb Hunter; and great grandchildren, Joseph, AJ, Gideon, Quincy, Silas, Londyn, Rhett, Paxton, Porter, Peyton, Carsen, and Iris.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, March 31, 2025 at the Bross and Spidle Funeral Home in Lawson, Mo. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Graveside directly following.
