Victor Eugene Hessel, Sr. passed away March 26, 2025.
He was an authentic western cowboy who loved Jesus. He was a farmer all his life – his most loved occupation. He also provided for his family by selling agriculture products for Cargill and then for Heartland. “Vic” or “Gene” was very active in his church, First Christian Church, in Marshall. He was also an active member and leader in the Gideons International. He was devoted to the mission of telling people about Jesus and distributing God’s Word.
Vic was married to Linda Kay, the love of his life, for almost 58 years. His wife, Linda, preceded him in death in 2021.
He is survived by his younger brother, Claude (Janet); his children, Victor “Skip” Jr. (Ginger) Hessel, Charles Hessel, Timothy Hessel, and Heidi (Justin) Jolliff; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He will be loved and missed by everyone he touched.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church, 130 No. Jefferson Ave., Marshall.
The family asks friends to consider donations to Gideons International in lieu of flowers.
