Linda Lee (Hosner) Sohm

Linda Sohm
Linda Lee (Hosner) Sohm, 84, of Kearney, Missouri, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025. Linda was born on June 24, 1940, in Glendale, Michigan, to Albert Hosner and Leone (McGuire) Hosner.

Linda graduated from Bloomingdale High School in 1959 and embarked on a variety of career paths in her early adulthood — always driven, curious, and hardworking. In 1971, she settled down with the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Sohm, and together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family. They began raising their three children in Grand Junction, Michigan, before relocating to Kearney, Missouri, in 1980.

A devoted member of the Church of the Annunciation, Linda was active in parish life and a proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Her faith and community were central to her life.

In 1986, Linda and Chuck took a leap of faith and decided to “roll the dice” by becoming business owners and acquiring Midwest Game Supply, a dice manufacturing company that would become a cornerstone of their lives for the next 36 years. As the “big boss,” Linda ran the company with passion and purpose. She was a true businesswoman — sharp, decisive, and compassionate. She treated her employees like family and worked tirelessly to build a workplace rooted in respect, loyalty, and care.

Linda is survived by her children, Dale L. Sohm and his wife, Valerie Sohm, Drew T. Sohm, and Kimberly L. (Sohm) Adkins and her husband, Paul Adkins. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Erick Sohm and his wife, Stephanie (Walker) Sohm, Haillee Sohm, Courtney (Adkins) Lohkamp and her husband, Joseph Lohkamp, Gabrielle Adkins, Collin Adkins, and Mia Adkins; as well as seven cherished great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles P. Sohm; her parents, Albert and Leone Hosner; her six siblings; two half-siblings; and many dear relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, followed by a Funeral Mass at the Church of the Annunciation, 701 N. Jefferson St., Kearney, MO. Linda will be laid to rest in a mausoleum entombment at Resurrection North Cemetery, 5001 NE Cookingham Dr., Kansas City, MO.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that contributions be made to one of the following causes close to Linda’s heart:

Our Sincere Condolences

Oh Linda, Chuck was waiting for you at the gates. What a greeting. I was fortunate to enjoy knowing her while working at Kearney Commercial Bank. I learned about her and Chuck’s early days, her kids/grandkids/greats, and the family “dice” business. Linda was a spitfire, a go-getter. She was very frustrated when KCB got bought out. She tried calling the bank and got someone on the phone from Colorado. Linda came to my branch, with a few choice words about the telephone system. I gave her my personal phone number so she wouldn’t have another bad experience. I loved chatting with her. God’s Peace.
Prayers to the family.
Kathy Mathia
