
James “Jim” D. Bonenfant, 67, of Lawson, Missouri, passed away May 12, 2026 at Liberty Hospital with his beloved wife by his side. Jim was born in Monroe, Michigan, of Maurice Bonenfant and Nancy Owens (Stiffler). Jim moved to Missouri in the ’80s where he worked for 38 years at KC Envelope as plant manager, and in his retirement, he enjoyed driving a school bus part-time.
In his free time, Jim loved riding his Harley and traveling with his wife Anita. When he wasn’t traveling or camping, he enjoyed watching the Detroit Lions, grilling and above all else spending time with his family.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Owens; father, Maurice Bonenfant; two brothers, Richard and Robert Bonenfant; and one sister, Haley Jennings.
Jim is survived by his wife, Anita; children, Jason (Shannon) Reame, Trisha (Trevor) Traviss, Nathan Bonenfant, Kyle Ballew, and Alysha (David) Ellison; 22 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be held at 4:30 p.m., May 18, 2026, with visitation following from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, 217 W. Broadway, Excelsior Springs, MO. Funeral Mass with be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at St. Ann Catholic Church, Excelsior Springs, MO, with burial at Crown Hill Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, MO.
