Clara G. Guth, 86, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, departed this life into life everlasting on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
Clara was born in Denver, Missouri on June 20, 1939 to Elemon Barber and Marie (Richardson) Barber.
Clara will always be remembered for her love for the Lord and knowledge of the Bible. She enjoyed spending time with her family and telling stories of God’s grace throughout her life. When she wasn’t reading God’s word, you could find her watching westerns. She loved her children unconditionally and spoke with them daily.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, James D. Guth, and her beloved daughter, Georgia Lee Herndin, as well as her parents, three brothers and a sister.
Survivors include, son, Jarold David Gallaway of Warsaw, Missouri; son, Arthur Gallaway (Denise) of Richmond, Missouri; daughter, Tanya Clark of Lawson, Missouri; daughter, Sonya Light of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; and daughter, Tina Wood (David) of Pleasant Hope, Missouri; sister, Twillia Adams (Troy) of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren; and many friends.
She lived life on her terms and died the same. What a blessing she has been to so many.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 18, 2026 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs, Missouri, with graveside services to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, Missouri.
