Adalaye (Terry) Vaughn

Adalaye (Terry) Vaughn passed away at the age of 85 on February 28, 2015. She was born on October 5, 1929, in Johnson, Kans., and was the daughter of Cliff and Emma Terry. She was raised, educated and worked in the Excelsior Springs area.

On February 12, 1945, she was united in marriage to Howard L. Vaughn. They had a long, loving relationship that lasted over 50 years, that ended in the death of Howard in 1998. He was the love of her life.

She was a long time employee of the Jack Monroe Pharmacy in Lawson and Excelsior Springs. She retired to take care and be with her husband.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cliff and Emma Terry; her husband, Howard Vaughn; and her six brothers and nine sisters.

Adalaye is survived by her son, Michael Vaughn and daughter-in-law, Janice, of Lawson, Mo.; her daughter, Connie Vaughn of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; three grandchildren and their spouses, Parrish Vaughn and Marsha of Lawson, Mo., Brice Vaughn and Brooke of Kearney, Mo., and Michelle (Vaughn) Hubbard and Jody of Lawson, Mo. She also had a great love for her eight great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at the United Christian and Presbyterian Church, 4th and Ingles, Lawson, Mo. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the United Christian and Presbyterian Church at 1 p.m. There will be a graveside service following the funeral services at the Lawson, Mo. Cemetery.

The family suggests contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to your local non-kill pet shelter in Adalaye Vaughn's name.

Arrangements are through Bross-Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs, Mo.
