Edward C. Rhodus
Edward C. Rhodus, 92, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away March 2, 2015.
Edward was born August 23, 1922 in Lawson, Mo., to Harry O. and Docia E. (Trigg) Rhodus. Edward proudly served his country in the United States Army during W.W.II. On August 2, 1952 he married Thelma Lawson. Thelma preceded him in death on January 24, 2002. Edward spent his life farming. He was also previously a member of the Rayville School Board and the Rayville softball team. Edward was known as a man who loved baseball.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Thelma.
Survivors include daughter, Sheila and Bob Neal; granddaughters, Christy and Marty Marker, and Cheryl and Steven Bailey; and great grandchildren, Andrew Morris, Michael Bailey, Noah Marker, Kane Marker, and Docia Bailey.
Edward was a man who loved his family. He will be lovingly remembered each time we hear, “Take Me Out To The Ballgame”.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs, Mo. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Lawson Cemetery in Lawson, Mo. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Variety Children’s Charity or Children’s Mercy Hospital.
