It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Maria Hope, age 73, who passed away peacefully on September 21, 2023 in Lexington Missouri.
Mrs. Hope was born April 17, 1948 in Bogota, Colombia.
Maria was a true friend to anyone who knew her. Loved her family. Always there for friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, father Jorge Gomez Barreto, and mother Leonor Garzon Piedrahita; her siblings, Fernando Gomez Garzon and Sylvia Gomez Garzon; and her husband, John David Hope.
Her surviving loved ones are daughters, Sylvia and Juanita Hope; and grandchildren, Jesse, Christian, Daniel and Julian Hope, and Anna Goddard.
A special thank you to Riverbend nursing home for the care and love you have shown Maria till her last days. She was truly happy to call it home.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, September 25, 2023 at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, 217 W. Broadway, Excelsior Springs, Missouri 64024.
