Betty Jane (Bowers) Sweet, 95, of Lawson, Missouri, went to be in her heavenly home December 17, 2024.
Betty was born to George Blaine Bowers and Esther Verdella Bowers in Decatur, Illinois, on March 31, 1929. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, of 71-1/2 years; her parents; and sister, Beverly Jean Thomas. She has one living sister, Delores Darlene Wright of Kansas City.
Betty married Jerry Lee Sweet of Fremont, Nebraska, on August 20, 1950. They were blessed with three children, Jimmy (Janice) Sweet, Kimberly (Kevin) Kitsmiller, and Carmen (Dale) Coble, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Betty was a homemaker, she had also studied and received her broker license at a young age, using her knowledge to buy and sell real estate along with keeping the books involved in their business. She and Jerry traveled many roads together, taking them all over the United States. She loved to travel and once again has traveled to be reunited with the love of her life, Jerry, in heaven.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed by an 11:00 a.m. service on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Lawson Baptist Church, 18603 US-69 Lawson, Missouri, with burial to follow at the Masonic Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, Missouri.
